The badges are “tokens” targeted mostly to Levels 0-3 that help guide the users towards the right behaviors (desired behaviors) and also recognize their contribution to improving their knowledge in Quintiq Academy.

Quintiq Academy perspective
  • Makes it easier to establish the awareness that the badges exist in Quintiq Academy.
  • Guides the learner on how the badges are earned while they are doing the desired actions.

New user perspective (Quintiq, partners & customers)
  • Eases the navigation of the new users around the most important parts of the Quintiq Academy which they need to understand and use.
  • It shows how easy is to use Quintiq Academy.

Experienced user perspective (Quintiq, partners & customers)
  • Gets them to do the things that help maintain and improve knowledge in Academy i.e. update course, create a course, take part in a podcast.
  • Recognizes their contribution to Quintiq Academy.

 During this project, the badges design has gone through a couple of rounds of rework. When I achieved the right 'look and feel', my project manager was ecstatic. Furthermore, I managed to persuade him to let me animate these badges, as I believe that will add more fun and encourage the users to earn more and view them on the "Trophy" page (see the animated badges below).
